Systematic, controlled, repeatable.

What good is success if you can’t repeat it? At blackswan we know that the most innovative programmes are grounded in structure to ensure their ongoing success.

Understanding that structure means that the outcomes are repeatable across your business.

Understanding that structure also means we create solutions that are highly tailored, yet based on proven results.

Below is just a taster of the toolset we bring to bear on our process projects

Process Mapping Process mapping uses diagramming to understand how the processes in the organisation are working today and what should we be doing to provide better customer focus and satisfaction.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)

VSM and Process mapping are techniques that help us visualise work processes.  They help us to identify areas for streamlining the work, reducing defects and improving operations in many ways.

Process Baseline The baseline is a numerical measure of the pre project capabilities of a given process. In basic terms it’s a measure of the expected output of a process with given inputs or the amount of time you can expect an activity to take to complete given current conditions.
Demand Flow Management Demand Flow Management is a combination of multiple tools and techniques deployed to facilitate highest level of customer service and satisfaction. Takt Time is the principle tool in deployment of a world class demand flow manufacturing system.
Workplace organisation: 5S 5S or the 5 pillars of the visual workplace is a systematic process of workplace organisation.  The intent of 5S is to have only what you need available in the workplace, a designated place for everything, a standard way of doing things, and the discipline to maintain it.
Statical Process Control By reviewing the outputs of the SPC chart the team can gain an understanding of what impacts performance and then changing them as required in order to improve performance.
Visual Management Visual Management is critical to effective communication of goals, objectives, plans, accomplishments, measurements, etc. that are vital to improved performance Visual Management must be in place to ensure sustainability of the improvements resulting from implementation of World Class tools and techniques.
Cycle Time Reduction Cycle Time Reduction is identifying and implementing more efficient ways to do things. Reducing cycle time requires eliminating or reducing non-value-added activity, which is defined as any activity that does not add value to the product.
Problem Solving Methodology Problem solving disciplines promote an orderly method that helps avoid missing critical steps in problem solving process – blackswan employ DMAEICS, Design, Measure, Analyse, Engage, Implement, Control and Sustain and a more simplistic version PDCA – Plan Do Check Act – depending on the specific requirement
Mistake Proofing (Poka-Yoke) Mistake Proofing is a great tool to address both casual and chronic causes of quality failure by preventing mistakes from occurring through detection and elimination of causes of failure both related to mechanical as well human nature.
Flow Balancing Implementation of a continuous and visible flow, eliminate interruptions. To balance the flow of work, the elements of work (work content) should add up to be equal or lower than the Takt Time for the manufacturing flow process in question.
