Carole Pemberton
Carole Pemberton

Biography:

Carole Pemberton’s skill is in helping people to take the next step up, through supporting them in developing a wider range of skills to deal with challenges which do not play to established strengths.

Carole is able to help specialists develop broader skills and enable functional experts to work with and understand different stakeholders.  She supports managers in becoming the leader they want to be and helps leaders become more of what they need to be.  Central to her approach is supporting individuals to develop the confidence to do things differently.  The skills that have brought success to date, can be insufficient to move forward or to deliver in a changing context.

She has particular expertise in working on career issues, drawn from working at every career stage from young talent to CEO, so that individuals are doing the work that works for them and works for their organisation.

Carole works with organisations as diverse as Imperial College and Sony Ericsson, The Treasury and Genzyme Biotechnology, Rio Tinto and the NHS.  In her work the focus is on helping people access strengths, which will enable them to step outside their comfort zone, in order to step up to new demands and roles.

She makes the coaching process transparent, so that those she coaches can learn from the experience and bring it into the coaching of their own staff.  Her experience of working both in management consultancy and a UK business school,  enables her to look at the individual, and the system they are working in. Her experience in developing manager coaches, means that she understands where coaching fits into the performance management cycle, and how leaders can use it most effectively.
